Expanded Polyethylene (EPE) is a closed cell non-cross linked PE Foam product which is a produced using low density Polyethylene resins with HCFC & CFC free gasses. Along with being a lightweight material, EPE Foam is also non-abrasive and chemically inert, water resistant and environmentally 100% recyclable.

EPE is used extensively in the marine industry for marine buoyancy. EPE displays all of the characteristics required to be deemed to satisfy as LDFM Type A Foam. It is the perfect product for increasing buoyancy in alloy boats as it’s cubic weight is only 17.5kg. The less dense the buoyancy material, the less you require which saves you time and money.

Future Foams EPE buoyancy foam is the only material in Western Australia that has been approved compliant by a NATA approved testing laboratory. We have had the product tested to comply to code MSC81(70) and NSCV Part C6 Annex F required by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA). Make sure your buoyancy material has official approval for peace of mind.

Sheet size is 2000 x 1000 x 50 mm. It can be cut to size using a sharp blade or jigsaw.

We also sell other products that display excellent buoyancy properties such as polystyrene and rigid polyurethanes. For boats that are not made from alloys, we also have liquid 2 part polyurethane kits which can be used to fill a cavity.
