Polyethylene (PE) is a closed cell, chemically cross linked, (and non-cross linked) foams, made from polyethylene copolymers. It is made in block (bun) form, or extruded. They are available in a range of densities (molecular weights) and hardnesses.

Future Foams stock various sizes of polyethylene in thicknesses of 5mm and 10mm thick. Polyethylene is available in black colour. We can supply a 30kg density on a 1000mm wide roll. 5mm thick is available on a 50 Meter roll and 10mm is on a 25 Meter roll. Smaller quantities are available.

PE’s tend to be good thermal insulators, excellent shock absorbing materials, and resistant to attack from chemicals and fuel based products. Their closed cell structure makes them impervious to water.

They are used in applications such as camping mats, yoga blocksboat fenders and high impact seating requiring a water proof product.

The closed cell properties of polyethlyene as well as its durability qualities makes it the perfect product to be used as a packaging material or lining a road case or instruments case.
